SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
This Sunday, we celebrate the solemnity of the Corpus Christi. The mystery of this gift challenges human reason but invites it to faith. In John 6:51, Jesus declares, “……the bread I shall give is my flesh for the life of the world.” His words were uncompromising. He left no room for anyone to think he spoke of his body and blood as mere symbolism. (Jn 6:54-58). Hence, he used a word rendered in Greek as trogein, meaning to chew or munch.
So, as many got offended and walked away due to disbelief, Jesus insisted that his body and blood are real food and a pledge of eternal life. At the Last Supper (1 Cor 11:23-26), Jesus gave us his body and blood and said: “This is my body… This cup is the new covenant in my blood.” This Gift of Christ's Body and Blood remains a test of true discipleship because, before this mystery, our senses fail us. But we are invited to trust in Jesus’ words like St. Peter did, and he confessed that Jesus had the message of eternal life. (John 6:68)
Let us pray for renewed love for the Eucharist, deeper unity (1 Cor 10:16-17), and the healing power of Christ’s Body and Blood. As we believe and adore, may we become, in our world, what we consume, Christ’s own body. Amen
Happy Sunday

ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Some months ago, we announced plans to establish an SVP Society in our parish. Thank you for your patience. Since then, both Mill Hill and Burnt Oak parishes have engaged with the SVP Society, who have kindly agreed to assist in setting up a joint conference for our communities. Representatives from SVP will speak at all Masses weekend (5th/6th July) to share more about this initiative.
OUR PARISH SUMMER FAYRE

We invite everyone to come and join and support this fundraising event for our..parish.We need volunteers to help us in the Summer Fayre like in the physical setting up and running the stalls such as the tombola and cake stand and helping out in small tasks before, during and after care, so we encourage our Parishioners if you are interested to give your name and contact number to any of our Priests.
We would like to ask everyone if you could donate prizes and gifts for the raffle, plus wines and spirits for the tombola. For more details, please speak to any of our Priests or to any member of our Parish Pastoral Council. Please keep an eye on the Takehomenews.

PARISH PREMISES CLEAN-UP
As some of you may know, Gerry, our gardener, has been unwell for some time. He played a vital role in maintaining the church grounds. While we priests have done our best to care for the garden and tidy up, there's only so much we can manage on our own.
We’re inviting all parishioners to join us for a Church Premises Clean-Up on Saturday, 5th July, following the Morning Mass. We'll begin at 10:40 AM and finish by 11:40 AM. Many hands make light work, so the more helpers we have, the quicker the job will be!
Tasks include cutting grass, watering flowers, picking up litter, sweeping, removing cobwebs, setting up tea and coffee, and, of course, friendly conversation. There’s something for everyone. After the clean-up, we’ll gather in the Parish Centre for light refreshments: tea, coffee, cookies, juice, etc. Let’s come together as a parish family to care for our shared space. Thank you in advance.
Important Safeguarding
and Health and Safety Notice for Parents
We kindly remind all parents and guardians to ensure that children are not left unattended at any time while in the church. Younger children must be accompanied to the toilets by a parent or guardian. To meet the
safeguarding standards, please note that stewards will only accompany children to the toilets with their parents or guardians. We understand the challenges of supervising little ones, but these procedures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
